It’s Noon

Hand check mark the listSo far today I have…

  • Drunk one mug of coffee
  • Posted on one blog
  • Opened the back door.
  • Peed twice

Looks like it is going to be  a productive day…

I’ve also wasted two hours looking for new stuff to post. Now I am sitting here looking at the screen wondering what to do next.

First the news:

They have developed Boob Deodorant. I didn’t think that was necessary. Actually ‘Boob’ is probably the best designed word in the English language; The B looks like a top view, the oo looks like a front view, and the b is the side view. Think about that.

Bieber, need I say more?

followed-blog-500-1xLifeGood news, I got another award from WordPress.

This blog now has 500 followers.

Now I have to figure out where they are hiding.

As we go through life, we hear all sorts of jokes, but among the most memorable are ‘Little Johnny’ jokes, Englishhas them, Portuguese has them ‘Joãozinho‘ too. They always show Little Johnny at his worst. I found this this morning, it made me spill my second coffee.

That kid in front just has to be Little Johnny.

On a more sober note, still no sign of Cloro. Today I will clean his corner and put the dishes away, a painful task that I have been putting off all week.

I might also do the dishes. Note the use of ‘might’ indicating a week possibility.

We got rain last night, not enough, but the temperature did go down and I got a good nights sleep, well deserved after going out for a sushi dinner.

A nap is high on the cards, lunch will be crumbed chicken, eventually and I really must do some more posts.

Down in the Dumps

One of the last photos I have

Cloro has disappeared.

I played with him a little in the yard after 11pm on Sunday, came in and went to bed; that was the last I saw of him.

I have been around the streets locally to see if he had been run over or met some other mishap, but no sign.

I remain still hopeful, that he will stroll in and demand breakfast.

I am already feeling the loneliness, the house is empty.

I got an award today. The Shine On award, it involves a meme, but I am not going to do it, I can’t.

I will thank Amanda at Night Owl Kitchen for the honour.

I can’t do justice today.

Remember I wrote about the big storm we had a few nights back and mentioned the continuous lightning, well, some fool was out there counting the flashes, probably the met guy, there were 4,000+ flashes in the whole state of Rio. One of them blew the thumb off the Statue of Christ and damaged another finger. Repairs are being made today.

Fixing the thumb

Fixing the thumb

This shows the banal order of priorities here in Brazil; people who were driven from their condemned homes in storms two years ago, are still waiting for the government to provide replacement housing as promised. A damned statue gets hit by lightning and they can’t repair it fast enough.

My tooth worsened last night, yesterday I had paracetamol for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I hope I can last out the day and night, then it’s off to the dentist first thing in the morning.

It’s time for a nap; it takes my mind of the tooth. Then I will make an abacate (avocado) slushie for lunch, it doesn’t involve chewing.

All Fizzed Out

My liver would look as though it had been pan fried

My liver would look as though it had been pan fried

After writing about my lack of fizz yesterday, it’s Thursday and I have just put the last bottle of sparkling mineral water in the fridge, which means I have drunk nine litres since Monday.

I’m so glad it’s not alcoholic, because I’d be giving my liver a real bashing.

About the photo two posts back of me doing ‘Santa’ in front of the BBQ, I don’t ‘do’ Santa, the ‘Ho ho hos’ are beer induced.

santa_claus_father

OMG, now what?

The one time in my life that I played Santa was at my son’s kindergarten. One of the kids toward the end of the ordeal looked me straight in the eye and “You’re Brett’s dad!”.

Never again.

The floods I mentioned yesterday, have been catastrophic.

My ex rang me earlier to tell me that the street she lived in in Austin (a sub-suburb of Rio interior) has been badly flooded and many houses destroyed  or badly flooded destroying everything.

Neighbours that I knew in the area are homeless.

This photo gives you an idea of the severity of the floods in the region.

Uruguay has legalised marijuana. The first country in the world to show some sense. The war against drugs is not winnable, other methods need to be looked at for a solution. My opinion is that drug addiction should be treated like alcoholism, it’s a sickness, you shouldn’t be jailed for being sick.

Britain is looking at changing their law to make it easier to criminilise ‘Legal Highs’, synthetic drugs. Stupid bastards, legal highs only exist because you’ve made everything else illegal. Once you make these illegal, they will make more synthetic drugs that’ll kill even more people. Wake up and smell the coffee, you’re all arse-about-face.

likeable-blog-1000-2xI got a badge from WordPress, 1,ooo Likes on my Things that Fizz & Stuff blog, cool.

I have just discovered via The Guardian, that the Russian Winter Olympics being held in Sochi are being questioned. Sochi is sub-tropical.

I thought they were ‘Winter Games’…

Yet, here you see a lovely beach scene on the Black Sea.

Doesn’t look very much like Winter Olympic weather to me.

Just enough time to squeeze in a nap before class.

It Could Only Happen on A Monday

I got burdened honoured with an award.

And it happened not twenty minutes after I had made the decision not to do any more of these.

But, Pecora Negra is such a nice bloke, I have decided to make this the last. I should really be napping. Also, I haven’t seen this award before.

The Woman’s Skirt Award, I suppose it’s better than being an old woman’s blouse…

Now I have to divulge eight things about myself…

1 :: All my life I have loved guns. Not for their ability to massacre, but the precision needed to put a small piece of metal exactly where you want it at a long distance. Yes, I did some hunting in my early twenties, but didn’t make a habit of it. At the age of 14 in air cadets I had mastered the art of shooting sufficiently that they gave me one of these to play with…

Boyhood doesn’t get much better.

2 :: I’m a high school dropout. Didn’t pass my school cert, thought bugger this, and left before the end of the year only to enlist in the Air Force at the age of 16 as, you guessed it, an armament mechanic; looking after guns and bombs and other stuff that went bang!

Emmylee – Made in Brazil

3 :: I got married at 23 and my wife of 19 spent the next 3½ years pregnant.

4 :: Apart from the original three I added another 8 stepchildren along the way and made one more, Emmylee. Made in Brazil with New Zealand components.

5 :: For 11 years I lived out of a suitcase as I traveled around South America. The only counties I haven’t yet been to are Colombia and Venezuela.

6 :: I can fly. I flew gliders as a sport in the Air Force.

7 :: when I was about 8, I convinced my younger brother he could fly. We were in the hedge beside the kitchen, at the top. I told him if he flapped his arms he could leap serenely from our perch. He jumped just as our mother shouted DON’T! from the kitchen window. He broke his collarbone.

8 :: I have been an atheist since I was 12, so I don’t do Christmas, but wish all my visitors a Merry Quafftide.

Now this is as far as I go. I don’t nominate blogs for these awards, there are too many deserving ones out there. Not the only reason, but the last time I nominated 10 for a similar award, not one acknowledged the fact. So I don’t.

If you feel you would like to participate, steal it and do it. If not, no bones were broken in the process.

I went to the supermarket for some therapy this morning, so I didn’t get my customary nap, a lapse which I am about the rectify.
