Tag Archive: Good Friday

No, not an ankylosaurus!

I have been attacked by an ankle-osuarus while peeing, while making coffee, while opening the front door, while sitting here at the computer and while walking anywhere in the house.

Clorinha is in a particularly frisky mood this morning.

Must have been the influence of the Battle of the Mouse in the early hours. Then I woke to find her perched up on top of the old TV. No idea how she got there, but signs that she is growing up. Next step will be out the bedroom window to explore the heights of the garage.

I didn’t get round to posting yesterday. Clorinha and I were ‘Belly Up’ (was to be the title of this post, until the ankle-bitter bit) most of the day.

Belly Up!

Belly Up!

No, you don’t get to see my photo, belly up!

At the moment Clorinha is playing fly-Catcher in the Rye Kitchen. She’s not being very successful; pesky flies.

After heavy rain Monday and Tuesday, we were promised lots of rain on Wednesday; we got lots of cloud. We were promised rain again yesterday; we got partial cloud. We were promised rain again today; we have a lovely sunny morning. Honestly, I don’t know who tells bigger lies, weather forecasters or politicians…

It’s Good Friday!

Why is it called ‘good’?

Wasn’t such a hot day for Jesus.

I don’t believe in the resurrection. There’s no proof that it really happened. It was not written about until 200+ years afterward from anecdotes; and that reminds me of the game Chinese Whispers; how stories change in the retelling. But, but… the Turin Shroud… the fabric has been dated about 16th century, although Christians won’t adhere to that.

easter-fertilityEaster is all about MONEY!

Nothing more, nothing less.

For me it is less, because I lose so many classes.

But I am not so churlish.

Happy Easter!

For those believers.

And, remember, your kids are eating pagan fertility symbols.

Good Friday = Two Naps

bartjesusYes, for me a good Friday is one when I can justify and squeeze in not one, but two naps.

At 10am I was showered and smelled good. I had decided to go out.

I got to the other side of the park and had a quick chat with a neighbour and it began to rain.

Trip cancelled, home to bed for a nap.

I had planned to go to the plant shop, then the supermarket and the fish market, by the time all that was done there would have been a strong possibility I would have caved into the whim and gone to Brazeiro (BBQ restaurant for lunch).

Now that would have made it a great Friday.

But instead, I had to settle for a good Friday and the last two bread rolls with garlic butter (last Sunday’s leftovers) for breakfast.

Woke, read the news, none of it any good. Posted, read my emails, visited some blogs, then it began to rain… second nap while frozen lump of pork was boiling for lunch.

5pm, pork has boiled, I still haven’t had lunch… However, I am giving the idea a lot of thought. So is my belly.

I’ve even forgotten the title

Monday wasn’t too bad, this week it’s Tuesday that’s getting to me.

Nothing had irked me sufficient to post on my Monday Moaning on Eco-Crap, so I didn’t.

Very little has actually been happening.

They’ve found a large prehistoric snake, man started using fire 300,000 years earlier than previously thought.

Mitt Romney is still an idiot. Actually, he doesn’t have the credentials to qualify for idiocy. The Royal Canadian Bank has been caught selling its bad debt back to itself to make it look good. al-Bastard in Syria has given himself another 10 days in which he can freely slaughter civilians. There has been another shooting in another American college, makes you wonder whether there’s a major on this. Obama is still trying to convince the Mexicans not to decriminalise drugs. Burma did well in the elections, but it is still ruled by the military.

And the most important news in the US media is that a 93 year old grandmother has given up driving according to mainstream media sources.

Well, isn’t that just all ducky?   <——— Rhetorical question.

The coffee has kicked in.

One lesson tonight at 5:30, yesterdays were cancelled, tomorrows are cancelled and I’m not sure yet about Thursday, he’ll let me know. Then it’s Good Friday.

There’s an oxymoron, they call it Good Friday… wasn’t that the day Jesus was crucified? Can’t see anything good about getting piercings with six inch nails and thorns.

Like I said, very little has been happening.

BTW the T-shirt was sent to me by Small Footprints, she recognises my affection for the brown liquid.

I found some fancy flowers at work. I had no idea what they were and appealed as such on Eco-Crap. Small Footprints (as above) came to the rescue and made an old man very happy.

Damn caption adding thingy not functioning, so… They are cannonball tree flowers.
