betweenSat&SunWith my screwed up Saturdays, Sunday doesn’t really feel like Sunday anymore.

If the powers that be can stuff around with daylight saving, surely they could invent a new weekend day.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who would approve.

Laundry lady came, babbled a lot and went.

While ignoring the banal banter I managed to post, and here I am at the end of the day. It’s only 5pm, but I consider that a Sunday the day ends here.

It’s election day, so no football.

On a Sunday there is nothing but crap on TV from midday until 9pm. then there’s a current affairs programme that sometimes too can be crap, although not always. Sometimes it exposes the nefarious goings ons of politicians, government or criminals… there I go, repeating myself again.

I love the opening of this programme.

Quite ethereal.

I made a huge tray of sushi today and took it to the botequim. I’m getting quite proficient now and it only took me an hour and a half from washing the rice to eating with my first beer. A half dozen of the fregües (regulars) like it and participate and the tray didn’t last long.

So that was my contribution for the day.

I came back home for Nap-fu practice, which I might add was successful.

In my despising daylight savings, it appears that I am not alone. The Russians tried DST as a permanent fixture. But this weekend they are returning to ‘normal’ time for the last time. No more DST.

As there is nothing on TV, and the botequim crowd are people I don’t know, I may see if I can rest, although guilty feelings about the dishes may reign supreme.

Meanwhile, think about that extra day… what would we call a new day between Saturday and Sunday?

Fried Brains

brain_overload-300x2001Sometimes I feel like this ——>

But mine is less cluttered, because I don’t subscribe to much of the shit that’s available to fry your brains.

I LOL a lot, and sometimes OMG even though I am an atheist, an ingrained habit from my younger years.

Saw a post on WordPress this morning: Boring, Boring WordPress; and I have to agree, WP is as boring as shit. They say they have 20% of the blog market and I know why? They’re not interested in the you and me who don’t pay for their blogs. They’re slow, their blogging is cumbersome, their themes are boring beyond belief, and free blogs can’t use plug-ins; and many useful widgets are not permitted.

Blogspot on the other hand is free, interesting themes are manageable and easy to use, there are no limitations as to who can use what.

So why am I here on WordPress?

Simple the policies of Blogspot/Google are shit. Remember two years ago, I lost five years blogging and emailing without so much as a comment from them.

If WP wants to capture the market, they have to compete with Blogspot, and at this late stage of play, that’s not going to be easy. First thing they need to do is make it easier for free bloggers; until that happens, they’re pushing shit uphill with a rake.

justin-bieber-brothel-brazil-00-600x450Justin Bieber went down like a bad pill in Brazil. Sneaking out of a massage (read bonking) parlour covered in a sheet, vandalising some place with graffiti (he’s been charged with that) and walking off the stage earlier than scheduled because someone threw something at him. Hell, if he can’t stand criticism, get out of the game. Watch out Paraguay, here comes the spoiled brat of pop!

The rain hasn’t stopped since yesterday afternoon. Looks like another walk in the rain to get to work today.

Weinerschnitzel for lunch, yum, yum. I cut enough off the slab to do tomorrow as well. The rest is in the freezer should I feel the need for a BBQ on the weekend… foregone conclusion.

The Swiss team found traces of polonium on Arafat indicating possible poisoning; however the Russian team found nothing. Who do you believe?

Russian space launch with flame

Russian space launch with flame

Why would they send the Olympic flame to space? Are events planned there? Do they have astronauts competing in the games? So why? Waste of money and resources.

Okay, so it piggy backed with a crew change over, but I still ask why?

Japan is going to start the removal of the rods at Fukushima. Watch this space…

Must get ready for work. *looks out the window* Still raining, going to get wet.

Yes, well…

what can one say? It’s Saturday.

Higgs Boson Event – Wikipedia

The world is in a mess. Heat wave in US, floods in UK and Russia, violent elections in Libya and messy ones in Mexico, Higgs Boson has been discovered and nobody really knows what that means, Syria is in a turmoil and shelling Lebanon, the US have determined that mermaids don’t exist, some famous person has separated from some other famous person, Israel is threatening to bomb Iran… again, the British are hot on Barclay’s  banking scandal and promising accountability, the Americans don’t know what accountability is and Stephen Hawking is having his brain read.

What does that all mean for you and me?

Today was sunny and we had a nice BBQ.

Complacency worries me.

I changed my coffee. I have always drunk Pilão, but recently the price went above R$7/500gm, so I resorted to one of my two secondary preferences, Bom Dia Extra Forte, and now that is approaching R$7, so last week I brought Pimpinela which is a brand drunk by many Brazilians, it was still below the R$6 mark, but the stuff is bloody horrible. Won’t be buying that again.

This post started out on Saturday, but Saturday has crept along and it is now Sunday. As predicted the weather changed overnight and it is raining, which is not good BBQ weather.

Lixo has just come in, soggy cat. He got caught in the downpour, and he expects me to stroke him until he gets dry. Happiness is NOT a wet pussy. He’s got the snots now and gone off for breakfast.

I haven’t really considered blogging yet, still on that first coffee waiting for inspiration to strike; it hasn’t struck yet.
