Cloro has disappeared.
I played with him a little in the yard after 11pm on Sunday, came in and went to bed; that was the last I saw of him.
I have been around the streets locally to see if he had been run over or met some other mishap, but no sign.
I remain still hopeful, that he will stroll in and demand breakfast.
I am already feeling the loneliness, the house is empty.
I got an award today. The Shine On award, it involves a meme, but I am not going to do it, I can’t.
I will thank Amanda at Night Owl Kitchen for the honour.
I can’t do justice today.
Remember I wrote about the big storm we had a few nights back and mentioned the continuous lightning, well, some fool was out there counting the flashes, probably the met guy, there were 4,000+ flashes in the whole state of Rio. One of them blew the thumb off the Statue of Christ and damaged another finger. Repairs are being made today.
This shows the banal order of priorities here in Brazil; people who were driven from their condemned homes in storms two years ago, are still waiting for the government to provide replacement housing as promised. A damned statue gets hit by lightning and they can’t repair it fast enough.
My tooth worsened last night, yesterday I had paracetamol for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I hope I can last out the day and night, then it’s off to the dentist first thing in the morning.
It’s time for a nap; it takes my mind of the tooth. Then I will make an abacate (avocado) slushie for lunch, it doesn’t involve chewing.
Later.
Oh, I hope Cloro shows up, what a worry. (I agree about the skewed priorities, not just in Brazil!)

I’m so sorry about your cat, I hope you can find him soon andinthe meantime that someone is taking care of him. Even though you feel like you’re down in the dumps, your blog is still a wonderful place to hang out on, read interesting posts, and hear about the goings on in Brazil. I do miss living there to this day, we lived in Campinas for a year and a half and looking back on it I took for granted our time there. Granted the government there isn’t the greatest, but everyone down there is so kind and helpful. Brazilians are beautiful people and I absolutely love your culture and food….man do I love the food 🙂 And though I ate like a horse down there I actually lost weight! All that walking around we did is what did it!
I’m still happy that I chose you, you may not feel like shining on right now, but I know you were the right person to include 🙂 Take care!

>Night Owl, thanks, he’s more than just a cat, he’s a drinking buddy; he spends more time in the bar than I do. Thanks for the compliments about the blog. Didn’t realise you had lived here, in that case you’d identify with many of the things I write. Brazilian food is great, the coffee even better.

Sounds like an amazing cat AV.
Oh I miss the coffee! I actually learned how to drink it black without any milk or liquid acucar while we were there. I enjoyed the full body flavor and aroma. American coffee does not compare at all, it doesn’t even register on the scale. Brazilian coffee is superior 🙂 Caipirinhas are amazing too, loved having them at the Giovanetti 5 there in Campinas. Those were the days 🙂

>Night Owl, he is, he still sleeps with Daddy. I drink my coffee with a splash of milk and raw sugar. I have enjoyed my fair share of caipirinhas too. I have been here for 22 years this year.

>Lottie, even the guys at the bar realised I wasn’t my usual self today; I stopped in for an icecream. I still have hopes that he is just being a randy Tom Cat and that once he satisfies his lust he’ll remember where home is.

How long has Cloro been missing for? 😦 Don’t worry – boy cats tend to wander far and find their way back home eventually. My cat named Panda went missing for almost two weeks and my family and I were steadily breaking down over the thought we may never see him come home. But he did just that! He strolled in at around half past five in the morning, purring in my dad’s ear and waking him up for cuddles. My dad was so excited he woke me up at that time to show us he was home! So don’t worry – male cats do tend to wander. I currently keep my new kitten as a housecat, I don’t want her to wander off and get lost or even worse – bullied!
I hope he turns up, I just don’t want you to worry and get upset. Because he might turn up. There’s every chance that he can!

>Emily, missing for 48 hours now. I am used to my cats wandering, but like any ‘parent’ one worries about ones sons. I have had cats all my life, you would think that I would be immune to worry by now. But this neighbourhood has a history of poisonings; I have lost three to poison in five years. So you see my worry.
Thanks for stopping by and the comfort, appreciated.

Can’t like this one. Awful. Poor Cloro, poor you. I hope he is out ratting or rooting. Pets become companions very quickly. Fingers etc crossed that he’ll arrive home soon.

>Andrew, I have liked posts before even though there was nothing to like, it helps make the post visible in the blogosphere. I hop it’s a case of ratting and rooting (so eloquently put). I am still hopeful. He’ll get a hug and a smacked botty when he finally appears.

>Pecora, it would be a nice surprise, but I fear he has been katnapped, because he was a beautiful animal, or has met his maker. My previous three cats, were poisoned, but Cloro showed no signs of that; he simply went from happy cat to gone overnight. The house still feels empty.
Thanks for coming over.

4 weeks is a long time, Scooby has only been gone 4 days..
Stupid people put poison down to kill vermin, unfortunately cats are poisoned as well. My father in law, who lives in Sicily has lost many cats to poison.

Unfortunately here, it is guys who have caged birds (a big hobby here) that lay the poison for cats…
