Oh, at 60+, don’t I wish…
I commented on a blog today in a post about Twitter Trolls and other unpleasant crap. It prompted me to go and look a an old post I think I was Bitch Slapped and then I checked the previous post out of a perverse curiosity, Technology Harlots. Gave myself quite a thrill to see what I had written nearly two years ago.
I must explore old posts more often.
A quickie would still have been fun too…
Back to bed, good night.
I think it’s perfectly reasonable to dislike a peanut butter smoothie. Sounds disgusting!

Of the two posts I preferred the technoloy one, but I don’t drink smoothies. Only gazpacho.
If I am going to be really pedantic I thought it was interesting that you had two back to back posts using sexist language. ie bitch and harlot. That’s why people usually unfollow me. Standing up for feminism doesn’t win friends. Everyone, btw, does not have a pc, a laptop, a tablet and an iPhone. I can only record 50% success rate there.
I loved getting letters from my penpals. I too had loads. And collected stamps. Ah, the kids of today don’t know what they are missing …

>rough, my use of ‘sexist’ language as you call it was unintentional. I am not a PC person, I simply use the English language as available. I assure you I can be just as capable of referring to males in the same derogatory light. I favour no-one. I have a PC and recently bought a laptop. I don’t generally use it as a net computer, rather as a .pdf library of all my English textbooks and it stays at work.
You are right, the kids of today have no idea what they missed. We had so much.

Everyone’s use of sexist language is ‘always’ unintentional. And therein lies the problem.
Because when someone (me) points it out, that is the standard response. Hey ho, I could write a blog post about it if I hadn’t already written 20 before 😀
I am not a PC person either, all my computers are apple.
I do wonder if they know how to climb trees? Their parents would probably receive a visit from social services.

>rough, as an older linguist, I don’t see a problem with sexist language. I am not in favour of feminism, but I do support equality. The PC I referred to first was as in politically correct. I see we will continue to differ on this issue.
And as for Apple, wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole. I used Macs in Bolivia (it was all they had), and suffered the whole time. I did have a PC in the office, but anything that had to go to a printer, for example, had to be done on a Mac.
My post yesterday mentioned Canadian kids that know how to navigate a tablet, but not how to tie their shoe laces. I am a strong advocate for dirt and trees, and have written several posts about the necessity for cow poo; you can search that phrase on my Eco blog.
